Working hand in leash towards hope

Service Dog Program

The post-service trauma experienced by veterans and first responders can be debilitating. Service dogs from Keep Going K9s rekindle hope, foster resilience, and light the path to a brighter future.

Custom training

Aligning companions with needs

All of our service dogs receive professional training to assist with the psychological traumas of veterans and first responders. While matching dogs and handlers, we uncover other medical needs and provide additional, tailored training. So far, we have trained mobility, diabetic alert, seizure response, PTSD, hearing, and visual impairment, to name a few specialties.

Who is eligible?

Serving those who’ve served

If you are a veteran or first responder needing help, we want to help you. Our goal is to minimize restrictions and maximize hope. If you have PTSD, a traumatic brain injury, or other service-related psychological or physical disabilities, we want to talk to you to determine if one of our certified service dogs is a viable solution.

How long does it take?

Service dogs are always in training

We rigorously train canine companions daily and prepare them to serve. These dogs are certified to minimize psychological challenges like PTSD. Heroes who need this level of service will likely receive their companion in about a month following a pairing process, companionship training, and bonding time.
If it is determined that additional medical and mobility needs are necessary, the training process can take up to six months (or longer), depending on the level of care and training required. We will provide an accurate timeline based on the conditions the dog will address.
