The Canine Companionship Program

Veterans and first responders are meticulously matched with professionally trained, service dogs to support and enhance their daily lives. Each pairing is carefully considered, ensuring that the unique needs and lifestyles of our heroes align perfectly with their new four-legged partners.

at no charge, supported by the generosity of our community.

PTSD is most commonly associated with war, but first responders like police officers, firefighters, and EMTs also experience the lingering effects of traumatic events in the course of their profession.

How We Help

Custom-trained companions to fulfill our heroes’ needs

Carefully selected puppies within the program are proactively trained daily. These four-legged helpers will comfort companions dealing with trauma. As we pair heroes with helpers, we perform custom training to ensure the K9s are equipped to handle each hero’s specific needs.
Each K9 accompanies their hero home fully equipped with training to work and be comfortable. There is no cost to the hero for the K9, training, or equipment we provide.

Each amazing K9 selected for our program is honored with the name of a fallen hero. We always share that first responder’s or soldier’s story to help foster kinship and camaraderie, building a special bond between a hero and their companion.
